THE PROBLEM
We’ll be represented by Mitchell Tsai, a Pasadena-based attorney specializing in environmental law. The lawsuit is a procedural challenge under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to the FAA’s implementation of new departure procedures at Van Nuys Airport. We will argue the FAA did not provide public notice & opportunity for comment prior to changing decades-long flight patterns. The changes resulted in significant and unstudied impacts to new areas, including substantial impairments to numerous parks and protected open spaces across the Santa Monica Mountains.
